County Championship D2, Chester-le-Street: Durham 327 & 251-7 beat Yorkshire 448 & 129 by three wickets
Points: Durham 20, Yorkshire 8
Yorkshire's woeful season continued as the Tykes slumped to their second Championship defeat of the year to lowly Durham.
Having won convincingly by 167 runs at Headingley early last month, the home side had to work much harder this time after conceding a first innings deficit of 121.
Veteran Vince Wells played a key role on the final day by dismissing. Craig White for 30 and Darren Gough - the latter for a first ball duck - as Yorkshire added only 26 to their overnight score of 103-6.
He then shared a stand of 57 with youngster Phil Mustard to see Durham to within 22 of their victory target of 251.
Mustard was run out with victory still just out of reach but a typically beligerant 14 from Shoaib Akhtar - including a four and a six - clinched Durham's third win of the year.
