County Championship D2, Worcester, day three of four (stumps): Derbyshire 163 & 51-5 v Worcestershire 301
Derbyshire's hopes of avoiding their sixth consecutive County Championship match received a boost when just 33 balls were possible on the third day at New Road.
With a first-innings lead of 138, Worcestershire made the most of their brief spell on the field.
Nantie Hayward dismissed Dominic Cork for seven to leave the visitors 51-5 when the rain returned.
Although Mohamad Kaif was 26 not out when umpires Graham Burgess and Nigel Cowley decided to abandon the day, continued bad weather remained Derbyshire's only hop of surviving the final day.
