Tour match, Chester-le-Street, day one of four: India A 275-3 v Durham
Shiv Sunder Das hit a century as India A made a steady start to the first-class portion of their England tour against Durham at the Riverside.
Team captain Das, a veteran of 23 Tests who was dropped just prior to the senior side's tour to England last year, took just over four hours to hit 125.
He shared a 122-run opening partnership with fellow Test-discard Wasim Jaffer, who contributed 43 against a second-choice county attack.
And an unbroken 63-run fourth-wicket stand between Hemang Badani and wicket-keeper Parthiv Patel took the tourists to 275-3 at the close.
With new star Shoaib Akhtar among those rested, openers Ian Hunter and Nick Hatch shared three wickets, Hunter finishing the day with 2-51.
