NCL2, Old Trafford: Lancashire 198-7 beat Durham 197-7 by three wickets
Lancashire recorded an extraordinary win at home to Durham after recovering from 58-5 to win with some ease in the end.
Glenn Chapple was the hero of the hour. Batting at number seven, he scored 77 not out and was given excellent support by the experienced Warren Hegg and the youthful Kyle Hogg.
Durham won the toss and did well with the bat initially. But Martin Love (53) was out at just the wrong time. Carl Hooper's off-spin accounted for him and the West Indian exerted plenty of control.
Chapple, meanwhile, took three wickets, warming up for his later heroics with the bat.
When Lancashire slumped to 58-5 they were effectively six wickets down, for Iain Sutcliffe had been forced to retire hurt.
Young Liam Plunkett was in form for Durham, taking three wickets, but the back-up bowling was less good, allowing Chapple and the tail to get home with seven balls left to spare.
