Twenty20 Cup, Manchester: Derbyshire 95-3 beat Lancashire 91 by seven wickets
Lancashire crashed to their third defeat in four Twenty20 matches as Dom Hewson's occasional medium pace created havoc at an overcast Old Trafford.
Hewson took 4-18 in his four overs with only Chris Schofield (27) doing anything of note with the bat.
Hewson was well supported by Nathan Dumelow (3-8 from just 1.4 overs), who had the good fortune to be bowling at the tail, and the home side were all out in the 18th over.
In Derbyshire's reply, Michael di Venuto had the option to be watchful but he scored at better than a run a ball from the off to end unbeaten on 52.
Glenn Chapple took a couple of wickets with the new ball but Luke Sutton supported di Venuto competently to bring up victory in the 16th over.
It was Derbyshire's second win in three matches and if they can finish off with two wins they could make the semi-finals.
