The former Sri Lankan skipper hit a six and seven fours in making 44 not out off 46 balls after they had bowled out the home side to secure a three-run first innings lead.
The game came to an end when opening partner Tillakartne Dilshan was caught behind off Dwayne Bravo for 20.
Thilan Samaraweera had been the most successful Sri Lankan bowler earlier in the day, with figures of 3-56.
The President's XI were in trouble at 56-3 but Daren Ganga (54) and Ryan Hinds added 70 for the fourth wicket before Ganga fell to leg-spinner Kaushlya Lokuarachchi.
Hinds proved the biggest obstacle for the Sri Lankans in a patient and well-played innings of 83 which ended when he was caught off seam bowler Dinusha Fernando.
Carlton Baugh (43) and Dave Mohammed (33 not out) also batted well for the home side before their innings was ended when Jerome Taylor was lbw to left-arm paceman Thilan Thushara.
