Foxes outsmart Yorkshire
Twenty20 Cup, Leicester: Leicestershire 174-6 (20 overs) beat Yorkshire 158 all out (20 overs) by 16 runs
Points: Leicestershire 2, Yorkshire 0

Brad Hodge clubbed the highest score of the Twenty20 Cup to lead the Foxes to an impressive win over Yorkshire.

Aussie all-rounder Hodge hit 97 off 61 balls, including eight fours and five sixes, before falling on the last ball of the innings.

He gained good support from Paul Nixon (43 off 26 balls), the pair getting Leicestershire out of a tight spot that saw them reduced to 16-2 early on.

Yuvraj Singh led the way as Yorkshire made a decent fist of their run-chase.

The Indian star bludgeoned 71 off 37 balls, and when he departed the Tykes were still in great shape on 101-2 after 10 overs.

But Hodge stepped up again, taking three wickets in two overs to cap a fine all-round performance.

Jamie Grove and Jeremy Snape also took three wickets for the Foxes.
