Twenty20 Cup, South Division. The AMP Oval. Surrey 156-6 beat Middlesex 155 all out by four wickets
Jimmy Ormond took to Twenty20 cricket like a duck to water as he collected outstanding figures of 5-26 from his four-over allotment.
And his efforts set up a classy win for Surrey, who reached their target off the second ball of the final over.
Ed Joyce and Simon Cook were both dismissed by Ormond for golden ducks as Middlesex really struggled to assert themselves with the bat.
Their captain Andy Strauss anchored the innings to hit 52 and Robin Weston managed 30. But besides those efforts there was nothing else to celebrate.
For Surrey, Ian Ward's 31 set things upwhile England under-19 player James Benning collected the next best score of 27.
Adam Hollioake and Graham Thorpe also contributed with the bat, while Mark Ramprakash steered his team home with 17 not out.
