Durham's Harmison took eight wickets in the match
Melbourne: ECB National Academy (247 & 358-7 dec) beat Victoria 2nd XI (202 & 374) by 30runs

Steve Harmison took four wickets as England's Academy wrapped up a 30-run victory over Victoria 2nd XI at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Thursday.

Set a target of 404, after Academy captain Mark Wallace declared on 358 for seven, Victoria were bowled out for 374.

A third wicket stand of 230 between Nick Jewell and David Hussey put Victoria in a strong position, despite the loss of leading batsman Bryce McGain, who was called up by the Victoria first team.

But the Academy hit back to take the final eight wickets for 110 runs.

Figures of four for 47 doubled Harmison's match haul, and Yorkshire's Steve Kirby took three for 69. Glamorgan wicketkeeper Wallace took five catches.

The tourists' declaration was set up after eighth wicket pair Wallace and Chris Schofield added a further 39 runs to their overnight total.

Schofield finished unbeaten on 48 not out, and Wallace 36 not out.
