McMillan hits record as Kiwis win
![]() McMillan thrashed 16 boundaries in his innings
New Zealand v Pakistan, third Test in Hamilton (day four)
First innings: Pakistan 104 & 118 all out New Zealand win by an innings and 185 runs Click here for scorecard Craig McMillan hit a Test record 26 runs off a six-ball over as New Zealand beat Pakistan by an innings and 185 runs on Friday. The Kiwis levelled the Test series in emphatic style on day four in Hamilton. They had declared on 407-4, a lead of 303 runs over Pakistan's paltry first innings score. The tourists were 69-4 at tea and were skittled out for just 118 runs at Sneddon Park as the day's play drew to a close. Earlier home fans were treated to a run-feast as New Zealand made 147 runs in one session for the loss of just two wickets as they extended their already commanding lead. It included a phenomenal over from McMillan which is believed to be a world record. Other batsmen have scored more off an over, when overs were longer in cricket years ago and off no-balls. Heroics McMillan hit five fours and a six off legspinner Younis Khan's first over to move from 61 to 87. Three of the fours were from reverse sweeps, and the six was a lofted drive over long off which went out of the ground. McMillan was also heading for his fifth Test century when he was caught on the boundary on 98. He had faced 97 balls and hit 13 fours and three sixes. McMillan's heroics followed maiden Test centuries for Mark Richardson and Matthew Bell in the final Test against Pakistan in Hamilton. New Zealand clinched an emphatic victory despite losing a day-and-a-half to rain.
