Commonwealth Games 2010: Jehu elated at silver medal

Steven Jehu

Jehu was 'distraught' over slip

Exeter gymnast Steven Jehu says winning a silver medal in the team event at the Commonwealth Games in Delhi was "one of the best moments of his life".

Jehu did well on the rings and the floor, where he was England's top scorer, but he fell during his pommel routine and scored poorly.

"I was distraught but that emotion was short-lived," he told BBC Sport.

"I can't describe how happy I am - I'm so excited to get that medal around my neck," added the 23-year-old.

Jehu and England team-mates Max Whitlock, Luke Folwell, Danny Lawrence and Reiss Beckford were beaten to the gold medal by Australia.
