The home nations take on the big guns in their final group matches, looking to book their place in the quarter-finals. Scotland look to have the hardest task - they take on New Zealand, who have won all three tournaments held so far. England, losing finalists four years ago, finish off the action against great rivals Australia.

The women's 100m hurdles promises to be one of the highlights of the athletics programme, with five of last year's finalists at the World Championships eligible to compete in Delhi - including the three medallists.

Olympic and world 3,000m steeplechase champion Brimin Kipruto of Kenya is vying to add Commonwealth gold to his list of major titles, while the 4x400m relays get underway.

World 800m champion Caster Semenya of South Africa was expected to challenge for gold, but will miss the Games because of a back injury; the 19-year-old underwent an MRI scan, which confirmed the problem. Both Kenya's Janeth Jepkosgei and Jamaica's Kenia Sinclair have run faster than Semenya this year and the race is shaping up to be one of the most competitive on the track in Delhi.

The men's 10,000m features England's Chris Thompson, who won a European silver medal this summer behind team-mate Mo Farah, who has opted not to compete in Delhi.

An experienced English quartet also lined up in the women's 4x100m, an event where the Caribbean nations are expected to take all the beating.

More semi-final action in the flyweight, lightweight, welterweight, light-heavyweight and super-heavyweight divisions.

Also highlights of the second Women's Hockey semi-final and latest news of the Bowls and Diving competitions.
