Hawkey progresses into K2 final

Cornish kayaker Jenna Hawkey is through to the finals of the K2 1000m at the Under-23 European Flatwater Canoeing Championships in Poland.

Hawkey and her partner Abi Edmonds came third in their heat on Thursday and had the fourth fastest time overall.

The result means that the duo bypass the semi-finals and go straight into the line-up for Saturday's final.

Hawkey, who hails from Portreath is due to compete in the K4 500m heats and semi-finals on Friday.
