Stoke-on-Trent's Chris Edwards beat Paul Edwards on a split decision to regain the British flyweight title in Liverpool on Saturday night.

The 35-year-old from Fenton, who lost the title to Shinny Bayaar in October 2009, edged a closely-fought contest.

Two of the three judges scored the fight in favour of the Stoke man.

The reigning Commonwealth flyweight title holder now has a professional record of 16 wins, 14 losses and three draws in 33 bouts.
