GB's women boxers win three EU Championship silvers

Savannah Marshall
Marshall was one of three silver medallists

Great Britain's women boxers returned from the EU Championships in Hungary with three silver medals.

Savannah Marshall, Chantelle Cameron and Vesna Fisher were all beaten in their finals on Saturday missing out on going one better and winning gold.

GB sent eight boxers to Hungary with middleweight Marshall losing her final 6-4 against home favourite Binka Nagy.

Cameron (64kg) was beaten 4-0 by Gulsum Tatar while Fisher (46kg) lost 8-1 to Serpil Yassikaya.

Next up for GB's elite squad will be September's World Championship in Barbados.

For Marshall the result could have gone either way with her opponent just shading a thrilling final.

Cameron was up against the current world and European champion in her third international bout, but proved her natural ability in a very credible performance.

Fisher was well beaten by her experienced Turkish opponent in what was her first international final.
