Last-minute replacement Colin Lynes came up just short in his bid to reclaim the European light-welterweight title in Paris on Saturday.

Essex boxer Lynes, 31, stepped in after Northern Ireland's Paul McCloskey suffered an injury, but dropped a split decision against Souleymane M'Baye.

Lynes has now lost his last three fights and may now decide to retire.

Former WBA champion M'Baye will now have to defend his title against McCloskey, who is 19 fights unbeaten.
