Barnes defends against Morrison

Barry Morrison
Morrison lost the title to Colin Lynes in Motherwell

Former British light-welterweight champion Barry Morrison has been given the chance to reclaim the belt from David Barnes.

Mancunian Barnes won the vacant title by beating Ted Bami last month.

Now he will face the Scot at Liverpool's Everton Park Sports Centre on 9 May.

The fight will come less than a year after the 27-year-old lost his first defence against Colin Lynes in his home town of Motherwell.
