Haye ended his spell in the cruiserweight division with a crushing second-round win over Enzo Maccarinelli on Sunday morning at London's 02 Arena.
His trainer and manager Adam Booth told BBC London: "A November fight will give us plenty of time to gradually put on the right type of weight for him.
"We want a fight against a top-10 ranked heavyweight like Hasim Rahman."
The 27-year-old hopes to be ready for a title fight by the middle of 2009.
