Wayne McCullough will put his extra-curricular activities on hold to return to the ring for the first time in over two years in December.
The 37-year-old will take on Kiko Martinez who knocked out European champion Bernard Dunne recently.
McCullough has been carving out a career as a trainer and is a spokesman for the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
"I can't wait to fight in front of my home fans. I'm really looking forward to it," said McCullough.
"I haven't fought in Belfast since 2002 and while I constantly asked for a fight over there it just didn't happen.
"Even though I've lived in Las Vegas for the past 14 years I never forgot where I came from and my fans have stood by me.
"I made the first defence of my WBC bantamweight belt back in 1995 in Belfast and the support I got - and continue to get - from the fans over there is unbelievable. I'm really excited about this fight."
McCullough has not fought since losing a WBC super bantamweight title fight against Oscar Larios in Las Vegas back in 2005.
The 1 December contest will take place at the King's Hall.
