Irish heavyweight Kevin McBride's hopes of landing a world title fight look to be over after he was stopped in two rounds in a bout in Chicago.
Kevin McBride had little to smile about after Saturday's defeat
Little-known American Mike Mollo had floored McBride on three occasions because a halt was called.
Victory over a fading Mike Tyson in June of last year had propelled McBride into the world title picture.
Saturday's bout was on the undercard of Nikolai Valuev's WBA heavyweight title defence against Monte Barrett.
Mollo had lost just 1 of his 17 fights but was not expected to trouble McBride in Saturday's contest.
