Your pound-for-pound lists - No 3

By BBC Sport user Sean Smith

CURRENT P4P TOP 10
Marco Antonio Barrera
1: Marco Antonio Barrera
2: Kostya Tszyu
3: Bernard Hopkins
4: Winky Wright
5: Floyd Mayweather
6: Erik Morales
7: J M Marquez
8: Manny Pacquiao
9: Zab Judah
10: Diego Corrales

Magnificent Marco Antonio Barrera tops my list as the outstanding fighter in boxing, edging out Kostya Tszyu and Bernard Hopkins.

Barrera is not unbeatable - Manny Pacquiao proved that - but he gets the nod for quality of opposition faced.

And on present form, I'd make him a slight favourite over Pacman, Juan Manuel Marquez and Erik Morales.

But there is so little to choose between this quartet that any one of them could find himself a serious contender for the top pound-for-pound slot by beating one of the others.

Kostya Tszyu should cement his number two slot with an easy win over Ricky Hatton in June.

And his victory over Zab Judah is now looking even more impressive on the back of the New Yorker's annexing of the welterweight title.

Hopkins would be a cert for the top spot but has lacked credible opposition during most of his reign.

That said though, the winner of any bout between him and Winky Wright would have a strong claim to be the best.

Elsewhere, Floyd Mayweather Jr and Judah are decent bets to move up the rankings this year.

Cotto could end the year as light welterweight champ

Just outside the top ten, Glen Johnson would be knocking on the door should last year's fighter of the year repeat his victory over Antonio Tarver.

Welshman Joe Calzaghe needs a "superfight" to propel him into this sort of company, while Miguel Cotto could end the year as light welterweight champ and a shoe-in for the list.
