Mexico trounce Thailand in Tucson

Mexico won the so-called 'Boxing World Cup' against Thailand 3-1 in Tucson, Arizona on Saturday.

WBO super flyweight champion Fernando Montiel took a unanimous decision over Pramuansak Posuwan in the main event.

Johnny Gonzalez stopped Ratanachai Sor Vorapin to win the WBO bantamweight title and WBO light flyweight king Hugo Cazares stopped Kaicho Sor Vorapin.

Daniel Ponce de Leon claimed the vacant WBO super bantamweight title with a decision over Sod Looknongyangtoy.
