American Chris Byrd fought Poland's Andrew Golota to a 12-round draw to retain his IBF heavyweight title.
Byrd is considered one of the most awkward fighters in boxing
One judge gave Byrd a 115-113 verdict, another supported Golota by the same total and the third scored it 114-114.
"I thought I won the fight," said the champion. "I thought I won enough early rounds. He didn't hurt me at all throughout the fight."
Promoter Don King immediately announced a rematch, saying: "We're going to do it again."
It was the first career draw for both men, although neither were convinced it was an accurate verdict.
"It was a great fight," Golota said. "From my point of view, I
won the fight. The judges' point of view, I don't know."
Byrd was slick and skilled, landing hard and accurate punches and waiting for any openings.
But Golota used his size to maximum effectiveness and kept Byrd at bay much of the fight, at times pressing the attack.
