Arthur's pro debut moved to Scotland
Jamie Arthur
Jamie Arthur will fight in Glasgow in March
Wales' Commonwealth Games gold medallist Jamie Arthur will make his professional debut on the Wayne McCullough-Scott Harrison bill in Glasgow on 22 March.

The lightweight boxer from Cwmbran had pencilled in a possible 29 March date in Cardiff, hopefully on Joe Calzaghe's undercard, but that plan fell through.

Arthur, who was born in Scotland before moving to Cwmbran when he was four years old, says he is looking forward to the event and to getting his pro career on the road.

"This is a homecoming of sort and I hope that the Scottish fans will take to me," Arthur said.

"I still have relatives in Aberdeen and they supported me when I won gold for Wales.

"I have an exciting all-action style that the fans will like and I believe I can win a world title one day."

The young pugilist says he plans to compete in eight fights a year as he sets out on the path to a world title, but his first opponent has yet to be announced.

He could be training with WBO Super Middleweight champion Calzaghe as he pursues his boxing dream.

Calzaghe invited the Commonwealth champion to train with him as they chatted after the BBC Wales Sports Personality of the Year event in Cardiff on Monday.
