Williams stops Samuels
Richard Williams has retained the IBO light-middleweight championship after the10th-round stoppage of Paul Samuels.

That contest had been declared a draw and this time Williams put his opponent, from south Wales, on the canvas in round 10 at the Brentwood Leisure Centre.

Samuels got to this feet but was not allowed to continue by the referee.

Williams was satisfied he had made up for the first aborted fight.

"I started cautious after the last fight," said Williams.

He paid tribute to his opponent when he said of Samuels: "He's a tremendous puncher believe me."
