Williams parts company with King
Danny Williams in action against Julius Francis
Williams wants a world title shot

British heavyweight champion Danny Williams has decided to leave his promoter Don King.

Williams, who also holds the Commonwealth title, has fought just twice for King in the past 12 months.

A fax was sent on behalf of the 29-year-old to King's office in Miami on Tuesday to advise the promoter of his decision.

In the meantime, Williams has signed a three-year contract with Lions Promotions, the company headed up by Lennox Lewis.

"I've not been as active as I'd like to have been," Williams told BBC Sport Online. "I think that Lion will push me.

"I look forward to working with Lennox Lewis and hopefully fighting him. This move should also get me fighting on the BBC quite regularly."
