Santos subdues Takaloo
Takaloo and Santos go toe-to-toe
Takaloo (left) tired towards the end of the fight
Daniel Santos comfortably retained his WBO light-middleweight title with a points victory over Takaloo.

Puerto Rican Santos came on strong in the second half of the fight to claim a unanimous 117-110 116-112 116-111 verdict from the three ringside judges.

Kent-based Iranian Takaloo was hampered by cuts around both eyes and twice in the 10th round the referee came close to stopping the contest.

Takaloo had started at a fine pace but relied too much on his heavy right hands.

He had some success, flooring Santos with a swinging shot in the fourth round, but tired as the rounds went on.
