Harrison to get world title tilt
Scott Harrison at Braehead Arena
Harrison and Chacon will meet at Braehead Arena
Scottish featherweight Scott Harrison will finally be given a crack at the world title in October.

The 24-year-old's postponed bout against current WBO world champion Julio Pablo Chacon in Glasgow has been rearranged for either 12 or 19 October.

The original fight between Chacon and the British number one was scheduled for June, but was cancelled after the Argentine sustained an arm injury.

Harrison said: "Like I said before, I have to win the world title twice to be called the world champion.

World champion

"I am concentrating on my world title shot and am delighted to get the chance to prove I am the best in the world when I beat Chacon.

"I'm confident in my ability and have no hesitation in saying I am the best in Britain above (Naseem) Hamed and (Michael) Brodie.

"If they dispute that then I will gladly settle it in the ring with them but they won't fight me and want to face each other instead.

"When I am world champion they cannot ignore me."

Fellow Scots Alex Arthur and Willie Limond will go head-to-head on the same bill for the super-featherweight Lonsdale belt.

That fight was also due to take place on the same card as Harrison and Chacon at Braehead in June before Limond perforated an ear-drum in training.
