Harrison gets Negus warning
Dominic Negus (left) gets to grips with Audley Harrison
Negus (left) says he loves fighting in or out of the ring
Heavyweight Boxing: Harrison v Negus, BBC One Wednesday 10 July 2235 BST

Dominic Negus says Audley Harrison is in for a rude awakening when the two heavyweights clash in the ring on Wednesday night.

Harrison, the Olympic super-heavyweight gold medallist, has been criticised for fighting low-profile opponents as he seeks to make his mark in the professional arena.

But Negus insists the bout at Wembley Conference Centre will be an all-action affair, insisting: "I love fighting and he doesn't.

"You can tell by his make-up. I just don't think it's in his blood.

"He's making money for doing nothing but this is going to be different. He is going to earn his money."

Harrison is looking to maintain his unbeaten record against Negus, who has made a living out of protecting high-profile celebrities such as Claudia Schiffer.

And he is confident of scoring another success as he attempts to win over the critics.

You don't win an Olympic gold medal for nothing, but this is a different game

"I don't think he really likes to take punches but knows how to tuck up and move around," said Harrison.

"He's an OK fighter who can look after himself."

Despite accusing Harrison of not having a fighter's instinct, Negus insisted that he holds his opponent in high regard.

"Respect is respect," said Negus. "I'm not going to slag anyone off and he's done well.

"You don't win an Olympic gold medal for nothing, but this is a different game."

Harrison tipped the scales at 18st 0.5lb, 16.5lb heavier than Negus, who wore his boots and trousers for the weigh-in.
