McCullough poised to leave promoter Mat Tinley

Wayne McCullough is set to leave Mat Tinley and join the Frank Warren stable.

A deal is expected to be rubber-stamped next week with the possibility of the ''Pocket Rocket'' returning to the ring in Britain.

There is more than a strong rumour that the British Boxing Board of Control will finally give McCullough a licence to box in Britain next month.

McCullough has been at odds with the BBBC since they refused to grant him a licence to fight in Britain following the controversy over a brain scan.

McCullough was due for his second comeback fight in West Virginia next month, but that is now off.

Promoter Frank Warren ready to add McCullough to his stable

Tinley's company, American Presents, in financial trouble with McCullough still awaiting some of his payment.

He is still owed part of his fee from his first comeback fight last January when he defeated Alvin Brown in Las Vegas in two rounds.

The former WBC bantanweight title holder is also due money for medical tests while under Tinley's promotions.

It is also believed that four other boxers under contract with America Presents are in litigation with the company.

Not helping Tinley's company is that Mike Tyson owed it 2.5 million dollars - a loan from a few years ago.

McCullough has been 10 years under Tinley after the Denver-based television executive secured his signature ahead of a number of better-known promoters.
