Trinidad-Hopkins delayed
Felix Trinidad, the WBA middleweight champion of the world
Trinidad will fight Hopkins, but not this Saturday
The middleweight unification fight between Felix Trinidad and Bernard Hopkins, scheduled to take place on Saturday in New York has been postponed.

Due to be held at the world famous Madison Square Garden, the bout will now be rescheduled although no new date has been given.

"It's been postponed," said flamboyant promoter Don King on Wednesday. "I was really devastated by the sneak attack."

"We are working on a new date, and hope to reschedule it soon.

"This is a sold-out fight, the best fight in boxing. I want to keep the fighters in training."

King hopes that 29 September will be the fight's new date, although it is unclear whether the venue will still be New York.

Trinidad, the World Boxing Association champion and Hopkins, the WBC and IBF champion, were both in New York when the terrorist attacks took place but were unhurt.

Any boxing that was scheduled to be televised in America this weekend has also been cancelled.
