Williams looks to upstage Harrison

Danny Williams has it made clear that he will do what it takes to get Olympic champion Audley Harrison into the ring.
The reigning British Heavyweight champion has scheduled his next fight - a challenge for the WBU Heavyweight title - on the same night as Harrison's second professional fight. Harrison has not surprisingly received the bigger share of publicity during the past year while Williams has toiled in the background.
But following his comprehensive defeat of Julius Francis on Saturday, Williams and his promotional team now have the confidence to go head-to-head with Harrison in a battle for the public's interest. While Harrison takes on Derek McCafferty in Newcastle on 22 September, Williams fights for the WBU title at Wembley Conference Centre. And Williams is convinced the majority of fans will have their eyes on North London on that evening. "As soon as Harrison won the gold medal I expected the hype and he deserves it," said Williams. "I knew I was going to be overshadowed by Audley but the fans know who is the better fighter. "The public are obviously eager to see an Olympic champion and how he progresses but for a real fight they will watch Danny Williams."
Williams believes a fight with Harrison is not a realistic proposition at this stage but has set his sights on a possible world title fight with WBO champion Wladimir Klitschko. Before that, there may even be a contest with Harrison's new stable-mate Herbie Hide. He added: "I'd love a fight with Klitschko and there's always Herbie Hide out there, which would raise my profile. "I've not decided yet whether to vacate my British title as it means so much to me and it would be great to fight Hide with that on the line. "But I would jump in the air if Audley agreed to fight me tomorrow. I'd get everything I want - to become a household name, and to become very wealthy." Harrison's manager Colin McMillan has no fears about having to fight for the limelight with the British champion. "We had five-and-a-half thousand people there for Audley's debut and that demonstrated the amount of support he is getting from the public. "We are quite sure that Audley will get the coverage that he deserves. There are a lot of people out to undermine Audley and we are quite aware of that, but we are only interested in what we are doing." Harrison is currently in Los Angeles where he is beginning light training after recovering from a fractured rib which forced the initial date for facing McCafferty to be scrapped.
