Audley set for sterner test
Audley Harrison is looking for tough follow-up opposition
Harrison will be hoping for more robust opposition
Audley Harrison is set to face a more demanding challenge against a British opponent in his second bout as a professional.

The Olympic super heavyweight gold medallist will fight Derek McCafferty at the Liverpool Olympia on 14 July.

The 29-year-old, who was criticised after his first-round victory over Florida journeyman Michael Middleton in May, will be hoping the selection of his new opponent will quieten the doubters.

Aberdeen-born McCafferty has lost the last three of his five professional fights - but is expected to provide Harrison with respectable opposition.

The 6ft 3in underdog has previously gone the distance with recent British title contender Mark Potter and former world amateur champion Georgi Kandelaki, both over eight rounds.

"This guy is a durable fighter," said Harrison. "Having boxed some of the best fighters in Britain he should provide me with a decent test."

Harrison is aware of the need for more competitive bouts and believes his opponent will be equal to the task.

"After going the distance with both Mark Potter and Georgi Kandelaki, I'm expecting Derek McCafferty to last more than one round.

"My training is going very well and I am developing some good skills which I expect to utilise."
