A Championship performance
Paula Radcliffe after winning her 10000m gold medal
Paula Radcliffe crowned a successful fortnight

BBC Sport Online rounds up all the action from the European Athletics Championships in Munich.

The finest athletes in Europe converged in Munich's Olympiastadion for six scintillating days of competition.

And the event was a triumph for the British team who, fresh from their successes in Manchester, bagged seven gold medals to finish second in the medal table behind Russia.

Paula Radcliffe's stunning victory in the 10,000m was an obvious highlight, as were the performances of Steve Backley and Colin Jackson, who both claimed their fourth successive European titles.

And who will forget Ashia Hansen's last-gasp victory in the triple jump, Dwain Chambers' powerhouse 100m win, or the two golds for our men's relay teams?

There were memorable displays from Europe's star athletes, including Konstantinos Kenteris' time of 19.85 seconds to win 200m gold.

And Turkey's Sureyya Ayhan displayed fantastic courage to hold off Romania's Gabriela Szabo and win the 1500m.

Finland's Janne Holmen and Italy's Maria Guida both impressed on their way to victory in the men's and women's marathon respectively.

And Sweden's Carolina Kluft made a striking debut in the heptathlon.

Here, BBC Sport Online rounds up the action from Munich in words and pictures.
