Your Marathon messages
More than 33,000 runners, including some of the world's best athletes, limbered up for the 23rd London Marathon.

Did you have friends or family taking part? Where did you watch the race from?

Don't forget to send in your messages of congratulations for all those who completed this year's race.

This forum is now closed. See below for a selection of your e-mails

Just want to say well done to Darren Shinnie and Alex Thoirs who ran in the mini marathon.
Laura, Aberdeen

I was so proud of my son Mark Harris, who lives in Jersey, and runs the Headway Trust day centre. In his first marathon after having many years of suffering from M.E. he completed the course in 5 hours 47 minutes, I cannot say how great all the family feel knowing he has achieved this goal.

He now intends training for next years race. His little nephew, Adam, ran around the house with a Post-it label on his tee shirt with Marks number on, so was there in spirit. Well done Andrew and Mario for completing the course as well. They were all raising funds for the head injury trust, a worthy cause.
Joy Harris, Wadebridge, Cornwall

Why is there nothing on the BBC's Sport news about how Michael Watson is getting on? The news focus is all about the winners. Sure, Paula Radcliffe achieved an amazing win and deserves all the congratulations and coverage she receives, BUT Michael is attempting to achieve something even more amazing. Please let us know how he's getting on.
Sarah Beech, London

Well done to all who ran on Sunday. You are all to be admired and applauded for your achievements.
Halinka Rands, Chesham, Bucks

Well done to my twin brother Adam Charlton who finished his first ever marathon in a great time. I know how much he trained like everyone else who took part and I'm really proud of him. I look forward to seeing him on my return from the Middle East.
Howard Charlton, Lincoln

Paula's race on Sunday was jaw-droppingly good. She has transformed herself from a nearly woman to one of the greatest athletes of our time. I have nothing but admiration for her. A lot of my friends were in the marathon at a more leisurely pace and I have a lot of respect for them for completing the distance, I hope to do it myself in the future.
Ben Barnes, Chichester

Firstly, congratulations to everyone who took part in this year's Marathon. Secondly, a huge thank you to all the people of London who took to the streets for what can only be described as a day of amazing support.

And thirdly, to all the runners who carry out the task in fancy dress, a huge congratulations, you are all the true heroes of the London Marathon - I really don't know how you do it.

It was my first marathon and as much as it was a gruelling experience I have never had such a fantastic experience. Thank you everyone and congratulations!!
Darren Guy, Manchester

Congratulations to my best friend, Niall Saville, who ran his first marathon - I'm so proud of him
Becky Loader, Cambridge

Every at All Creatures Great and Small would like to offer their congratulations to Lesley Rideout for her achievement at yesterday's Flora London Marathon.

Lesley got to the finish in a time of four hours 51 minutes and 57 seconds, which we estimate put her in the top 11% of finishers! Wow Lesley! Way to go girl!

We would also like to express our deepest thanks for Lesley's fundraising efforts for our registered charity!
Karen McGarrigle, South Wales

I just want to send my congratulations to my best friend, Niall Saville, who ran his first marathon on Sunday. I'm so proud of him and have been telling anyone who mentions the marathon that he's doing it. My mum even rang me to say that she saw him on the television coverage! Everyone who's done it has managed such a great achievement - it's so inspiring.
Becky Loader, Cambridge
