Ollie Lockley led the senior runners during the U17 race

Andy Barron raced to his maiden victory in the Manx Gas Cross Country League at Ballanette on Sunday. The Manx Harrier finished the 10,390m course 20 seconds ahead of Mike Garret, with Gianni Epifani third. Kevin Loundes, who had won every race so far this year, was not competing at the event. Meanwhile, Rosy Craine scored a commanding victory in the women's race, finishing more than five minutes ahead of Gail Griffiths and Ann Cain. Sam Brand won the junior men's race and Ollie Lockley won the under-17 boys. Elsewhere, Jason Moore and Sosie Cox won the under-15s event, with William Morris and Danielle Barton having strong races to win the under-13s. David Mullarkey and Laura Dickinson were victorious in the under-11s, with Niall Caley and Charlie Moss taking the under-9s. A Manx Harriers team will travel to Staffordshire for the English Cross Country Championships on Saturday, 19 February.
