Yamauchi has been considering a switch to cross-country skiing

Oxford-born runner Mara Yamauchi retained her Matsue Ladies half-marathon title on Sunday.
The Tokyo-based athlete, who was using the event as preparation for the London Marathon, won the race in a time of one hour, 10 minutes and 19 seconds.
"I could break away from the start and run the rest of the race alone or stay in the pack," said Yamauchi.
"Since I was feeling so good, I decided to go from the start. It was a bit windy and I enjoyed the race."
Yamauchi, who finished sixth in last year's Olympic marathon, will lead the British challenge in London after Paula Radcliffe's withdrawal because of a toe injury.
