Gerrard is handed GB squad place

Manx athlete Keith Gerrard has been selected for the Great Britain & Northern Ireland team for the World Cross Country Championships in Jordan.

Gerrard, 22, narrowly missed out on automatic selection after finishing sixth at the UK Inter Counties Cross Country Championships on Saturday.

His selection means the top six at the weekend event in Nottingham have all been included in the GB team.

Gerrard was second for much of the race but ended up five seconds off bronze.
