American sprinter Tyson Gay will have his next attempt at the 100m world record at the London Grand Prix at Crystal Palace on 3 August.
The 24-year-old is the fastest man over 100m this year with a time of 9.84 secs at the US Championships in June.
Olympic silver medallist Francis Obikwelu will be among his rivals.
Sweden's Olympic heptathlon champion
Carolina Kluft has also been confirmed
for the meeting and will run in a world-class 200m field.
Kluft lines up against reigning Olympic champion over the distance, Veronica Campbell, as well as last year's European gold medallist Kim Gevaert of Belgium.
The Palace date will only be Kluft's second major outdoor appearance in this country, having finished fifth in the 100m hurdles at the Grand Prix in Sheffield 10 days ago.
Gay said he was looking forward to a crack on the current 100m world record of 9.77 seconds, currently held jointly by Asafa Powell and Justin Gatlin.
At the US Championships, Gay set the second fastest 200m of all time with a mark of 19.62 secs.
Last year, he claimed an impressive victory over 200m at Crystal Palace with a stadium-record time of 19.84 secs.
"I know how quick the track can be," he added.

Gay has been in fine form this season and won the 100m at the British Grand Prix in Sheffield earlier this month, clocking 10.13 seconds despite the rainy weather.
"It was a real shame that the conditions were so difficult for sprinting in Sheffield - but that is all part of the sport," he added.
"You have to be able to win whatever the weather and I was happy to do that against a strong field."
