Five cities have confirmed they will bid to host the 2011 and 2013 World Athletics Championships.
Barcelona, Brisbane, Gothenburg, Moscow and the South Korean city of Taegu, have thrown their hats into the ring.
Barcelona has applied for the 2013 event while Taegu is bidding for the 2011 Championships only.
The International Association of Athletics Federations will announce its decision on 27 March after the World Cross Country Championships in Kenya.
The 2007 World Athletics Championships will be staged in Osaka, Japan, with the 2009 event scheduled for Berlin.
