White wins in Monaco
BBC Coverage
Kelli White in action in Monaco
Live from 1340 BBC2 Sun 14 Sept
World champion Kelli White put the doping charges she faces to one side to win the women's 200m in the inaugural World Athletics Final in Monaco.

There were also victories for other US world champions as 110m hurdler Allen Johnson completed an unbeaten season outdoors, while Jerome Young led home the field in the 400m.

And US champion Bernard Williams edged out world 200m gold medallist John Capel to win the men's 100m in a season's best time of 10.04 seconds.

Britain's Dwain Chambers was again out of the top three as Nigeria's Uchenna Emedolu took third in a tight finish with world champion Kim Collins sixth.

White, who tested positive for the minor stimulant Modafinil at last month's world championships in Paris, won her race in 22.31 seconds, comfortably ahead of France's Muriel Hurtis. Russia's Anastasia Kapachinskaya was third.

White, who had to be helped from the track after her effort, said: "It was hard. I ran a good time but it wasn't as fast as I needed.

"I have stress on me and I wasn't feeling well at all. I've had high blood pressure for a week and a half."

With Swedish world heptathlon champion Carolina Kluft missing the meeting, South Africa's high jump gold medallist Hestrie Cloete took over at the top of the IAAF women's rankings by winning her event with a leap of 2.01 metres.

Whether she will remain there hinges on White's performance in Sunday's 100m.

Johnson, who became the first four-time world champion in the 110m hurdles in Paris, won in Monaco in 13.11 seconds, beating compatriot Trammell Terrence by 0.06secs with Stanislav Olijars of Latvia third.

Young took the 400m in 45.01secs ahead of Michael Blackwood of Jamaica and Granada's Alleyne Francique.

Turkey's Sureyya Ayhan produced a customary storming finish to cruise to victory in the women's 1500m, with Kenyan Jackline Maranga second and Britain's world bronze medallist Hayley Tullett third.

Britain's Jo Pavey lowered her personal best to 4:01.79 as she finished fourth.
