Paula Radcliffe has predicted that Great Britain will win team medals at the World Cross Country Championships if Liz Yelling can maintain her form.

Yelling won bronze at the Great North Cross Country in Newcastle having led for three-quarters of the 6.2km race.

Kenyan stars Susan Chepkemei and Esther Kiplagat came through to claim the top two steps on the podium on the last circuit of the race.

However, Radcilffe, recuperating from a knee injury, believes more success is only a matter of time.

"I was kicking myself for not being being able to be there but it was marvellous watching Liz's performance," Radcliffe said of her training partner.

"She was really positive and it was easily her best run for many years.

"She used to run like that and not be afraid of anyone - she really went for it."

Radcliffe's first major target in 2002 is the defence of her Cross Country crown in Dublin in March.
