Hicham El Guerrouj
El Guerrouj wants to write his name in the history books
Morocco's Hicham El Guerrouj wants to add to his collection of world records by smashing the previous best in the indoor two-mile.

El Guerrouj holds the outdoor world records at 1500m, 2000m and the mile, and the indoor world records at 1500 metres and the mile.

Next year he plans to run indoors in Belgium and England ahead of the outdoor season, which will include meetings in the US, Zurich, Brussels and Oslo.

El Guerrouj said: "At the age of 27, I feel that I am in a very good shape.

"I will focus my efforts to peak for the world championships in Paris in 2003 and the Olympics games in Athens in 2004."
