Drugs ban for shot put champion
Burger Lambrechts, the Commonwealth Games shot put champion, has been banned for two years after testing positive for the anabolic steroid stanozolol in February.

The announcement was made by Athletics South Africa (ASA) on Monday.

Lambrechts, 28, who has twice won gold medals at the All-Africa Championships tested positive at meetings in Port Elizabeth on February 16 and in Stellenbosch seven days later.

He was suspended pending an ASA hearing after setting a national record of 20.90metres in Stellenbosch.
