Grimwood pushed his American opponent all the way with a fine display

Liam Grimwood collected a silver medal at the archery World Championships in Ulsan, Korea, after narrowly losing out on gold to American Reo Wilde. The Merseysider archer beat Jose Duo in his compound semi-final but then lost 118-116 to Wilde in the match for gold. Both men started with two 10s and a nine but Wilde pulled ahead by a point after the second end, shooting three 10s to Grimwood's nine and two 10s. Grimwood finished with a perfect three 10s but so too did his opponent. "Liam's had a fantastic tournament, and winning a World Championship silver medal is a tribute to his hard work and dedication," said Performance Manager Barry Eley. "Obviously a gold would have been nice, but Reo is a terrific, and experienced, archer, and Liam was in it right to the end. We're all very proud of him."
