Josh Taumalolo: Set for another five years at Bridgend
Bridgend have confirmed the re-signing of Tonga full-back Siua 'Josh' Taumalolo on a five year contract.

The 24-year old is one of a clutch of players who will be retained by the Brewery Field side as they attempt to qualify for Europe next season.

Chris Stephens (3 years), Jason Hewlett (2 years), Maama Molitika (2 years) and Paul Clapham (2 years) have also signed new deals.

"I am very happy here, the club has looked after me and I have settled down well," said Taumalolo.

I have never worked or played with anyone who works so hard as Chris

The Tongan star has recovered from a hamstring injury which has kept him sidelined since December's 30-27 defeat to Llanelli and could be in line for the Cardiff game on 10 February.

Assistant coach Richard Webster said:" We now have a band of senior players, but have left room to recruit four or five new faces over the summer."

And he paid tribute to Taumalolo and second row Chris Stephens, who has had well-publicised disciplinary problems this year.

"Everyone rates Josh highly, he has only been at the club a year and he is enjoying himself.

"And I have never worked or played with anyone who works so hard, has as much commitment and passion as Chris," Webster said.

Tongan flanker Maama Molitika will qualify as a non-overseas player next season as he is to marry his Welsh girlfriend in May.
