It could be argued that Capriati has suffered most from the emergence of the Williams sisters in women's tennis, with the Floridian title-less since last year's Australian Open.
Since the beginning of the 2002 season, Capriati, regarded by many as one of only a handful of players capable of competing with the all-conquering sisters, has lost all seven meetings with Serena including four finals.
But Wimbledon, though not among the three Grand Slam titles she has notched up so far in her career, has provided the 27-year-old with some fond memories.
It was 13 years ago that Capriati became the youngest seed in Grand Slam history when she was ranked 12th at Wimbledon.
Her subsequent fall and rise has been well documented, but along the way she has twice reached the semis and on three occasions made it to the quarter-finals, including last year.
Her form in 2003 has been consistent, if not outstanding, but she will need to be on top of her game to challenge for the trophy at SW19.
