ATP World Tour Finals Group B:
Andy Murray beat David Ferrer 6-4 6-2

All of the world's best players are in London this week so it's great to make it through to the semis, especially after beating a player as tough as David Ferrer.

I wanted to get off to a good start but that didn't happen. After that, I played well. Last year, I thought I played three good matches, winning my final group match, but I still went out because of the result of the following match between Juan Martin del Potro and Roger Federer.

That's the tough thing, if you don't know exactly what you need to do, you just try to win the match. You're not thinking of winning a certain amount of games.

Last year, everyone thought it was pretty much done and that I was through. There were literally only one or two scorelines that could have put me out. Unfortunately, one of them happened. Because I played the night match this time around, I knew exactly what I had to do.

I watched a little bit of the start of Federer's match against Robin Soderling in between training and getting the boat over from the hotel.

The tournament has two boats that carry about 40 or 50 people to and from the O2 arena. Last year, I stayed at home on some nights and others at the hotel, depending on what time I was playing.

It'll be great to play in the semis after missing out last year and I'm sure there will be a packed crowd. The support has been amazing.

This year, I'm at the hotel all week so I've taken the boat every day. It's freezing, so cold outside but really warm inside, where the heaters are on overdrive.

The boat was a bit quieter the other night so I went outside and gave my Titanic pose a quick run-out but I only did it to cool down a bit. Honest.

It can take quite a while to get back to the hotel, especially after a night match, and I've been going to bed pretty late here, at about 1.30am or 2am.

I was kind of flicking between the Tottenham and Manchester United/Glasgow Rangers games on my night off on Wednesday. Spurs are playing really well at the moment and Gareth Bale seems to be getting better every match. I would hate to have to mark him!

Which reminds me, I need to get round to making changes to my fantasy football and basketball teams. I'm doing all right in the football, about sixth out of 18 or so, but I'll get higher. Colin Fleming and Ken Skupski are two other tennis players in my league. They are doing all right... not great but all right.

Not one fantasy player has set the world alight for me over the last few weeks and I've struggled because I've had Chelsea players like Didier Drogba and Florent Malouda in my team.

They're my big guys. Then Cesc Fabregas got injured on Wednesday night. I've also got Marc Albrighton and Yuri Zhirkov, who are also injured. I think I'm cursed at the moment.

Anyway, I'll have a look at that on Friday after a bit of a lie-in, then head to the arena to practice in the afternoon and start thinking about Saturday. It'll be great to play in the semis after missing out last year and I'm sure there will be a packed crowd.

The support has been amazing. It means a lot and I can't wait to get back on the court.
