2118: Well, I thought I was going to be with you a bit longer but I guess that's how the Spaniard's wrist crumbles. Murray will certainly be grateful for the extra rest as he awaits to see which of Ivan Ljubicic or Igor Andreev he will play in the quarter-finals. Feel free to kick your feet up and enjoy the festival of tennis during the rest of tonight.

2116: Murray reiterates his priorities: "I think I've got a good chance of winning the tournament but I'm still looking towards Miami."

2114: Murray on his injury: "My ankle's a little bit sore but it's just a bit of swelling, nothing serious."

Phew, mini crisis over.

2111: This may explain quite a lot. Robredo has decided to call it a day early. He walks to the net and concedes to Murray with an apparent wrist injury. As if not to feel left out Murray appears to be struggling with an ankle problem.

Murray 3-0 Robredo
From this showing you'd think Robredo was a brittle no-hoper, when in fact he's normally a pretty tough nut to crack. Murray again makes it look easy as he serves solidly, keeps his shots in court and allows Robredo to be his own worst enemy.

Murray 2-0 Robredo
This is becoming somewhat routine now. I feel I may not be with you much longer at this rate. It's all about the errors from Tommy, all about the errors.

Murray 1-0 Robredo
More errors from Robredo (he's up to 20 now) but now Murray gets in on the act with two double faults. Robredo shows just how dangerous he is though at deuce as he superbly lobs Murray to take advantage. Thankfully Murray can be just as cute and comes in to volley a subtle winner for the next point. Murray then soaks up some hard-hitting pressure from Robredo and draws him in for a final, fatal error (hit long) for the game.

2100: ""Now were warming up." Come on Phil, grammer! "we're!" Great first set from Murray!."
From Alex_tree on 606

Not only have I let you down, but I've let myself down as well. That is I would have done if my accuser could spell grammar, or use full stops correctly. A minor reprieve!

Murray 6-2 Robredo
And that's the first set. There were brief signs that Murray may have to work hard for this but with 18 unforced errors so far Robredo is making his job relatively easy. Murray seems happy to just keep making sure he gets his returns in and letting the Spaniard do the rest. It's certainly not the kind of workout that could test his physical state after that virus.

Murray 5-2 Robredo
Robredo smashes his way into an early 30-0 lead, clearly angry at the way he let the last game slip but Murray looks composed and coolly brings his way back into the game with a mixture of powerful first serves and in one instance positioning Robredo before coming in court to volley a winner. The British number one is beginning to show his class here.

Murray 4-2 Robredo
Now were warming up. Some great returns from Murray keep him in control of the game early on and Robredo throws in more unforced errors whilst searching for the key to beating the Scot. However, two break points down and the Spaniard pulls out the power to smash an ace and a solid forehand winner to pull back to deuce. Murray continues to hang on in despite Robredo having numerous chances to seal the game, including the first real class rally of the match before Robredo again falls to an error of his own making.

2037: "If Murray's anywhere close to fully fit he should have too much for Robredo as their games match up pretty well for him."
From The Man From Viltheed on 606

Murray 3-2 Robredo
Murray starts to turn the screw, altering the pace of his shots to good effect and forcing errors from Robredo. He also chucks in a big first serve or two just for good measure. Normal service is resumed and we're back on serve.

Murray 2-2 Robredo
That's a bit more like it from Murray as he breaks back to love. He looks solid throughout but is grateful to a poorly placed overhand volley from Robredo to take the game. Hopefully that initial break has shaken off the cobwebs.

Murray 1-2 Robredo
Murray will need greater pace on his shots if he's to beat a quick competitor like Robredo down the channels. Robredo is looking confident here and slams a forehand past Murray mid-game to prove it. In contrast Murray seems distracted and after saving one-break point can only grant the game to Robredo with a double-fault.

Murray 1-1 Robredo
Robredo replies in kind by taking the second game to even things up. We get an early sign of Robredo's power with a crushing forehand to the left corner that Murray could only watch by. Fair trade off to begin with.

Murray 1-0 Robredo
Murray starts with a relatively routine first service game working Robredo around the court nicely and forcing his opponent into a net error to claim the game.

2015: It's not the biggest crowd in stadium two for this match. Could be that the Federer/Gonzalez encounter in stadium one has attracted the masses.

2011: With Robredo already sat in his courtside chair, Murray emerges from the changing room into what is a predictably beautiful day in California.

2010: Evening all, and what a fine evening it is, especially if you're a tennis fan. It's a veritable feast of hard court action in California today with all of the last 16 men standing in the Indian Wells Masters 1000 taking to the court. As if that wasn't enough, there's also the top half of the women's draw to be played and, oh yes my friends, some doubles later on.

Our focus though of course is on Britain's finest, Andy Murray, who continues his return to action following illness against 15th seed Tommy Robredo in the fourth round.

The young Scot has never beaten the Spanish world number 15, who at present is bang in form having recently gone on a 12-match winning run that saw him claim titles in Argentina and Brazil last month.
