BBC experts on the British challenge

Pat Cash

Former Wimbledon winner

Andy Murray is a top player and shots like he produced today against Xavier Malisse show that he is in a bit of form.

Malisse is another player making a bit of a comeback although he is not in the kind of form that took him to the semi-final.

Malisse is a very flashy player and he can hit all sorts of winners so you have to play well to beat a guy like that.

Murray now plays Tommy Haas it is going to be a very interesting game. Haas is a former world number two and has won some big Davis Cup matches.

He is a very solid player and has beaten Murray already this year. It is a big danger match. Haas will give Murray a run for his money.

Chris Eaton
Eaton produced a spirited performance against Dmitry Tursunov

With his displays at Wimbledon, Chris Eaton now realises he is not that far away from the quality players on the tour.

He has to get out there and make the effort, he has already made some giant leaps and has a belief in his game.

He was certainly in it against the 25th seed Dmitry Tursunov. He managed to get to the first set tie-break where anything can happen.

I like the way Eaton plays. He is a big serve-volleyer and we hardly see any of that nowadays.

He has got a big reach and he has a go, and he possesses some weapon with that serve.

We mustn't forget that Tursunov is a very good player. He has got to the third round or better every time he has got to Wimbledon. He has got all the shots.

This has been a great start for Eaton, now is the time for him to come through.

Tracy Austin

Two-time US Open champion

This Wimbledon run will mean a lot to Chris Eaton.

His ranking is going to go up and he is going to have a little bit more money in his wallet as well which is crucial for him because I am sure the expenses are tough.

It is all about removing those doubts. You don't know where your career can get to and his displays at Wimbledon give him some answers.

Anne Keothavong played very well in her defeat against Venus Williams.

It is great for her confidence. Playing on Centre Court you can get taken up by the atmosphere, you can get so nervous, but she was very poised.

The way she slammed down the ball in frustration at one point pleased me. It showed that her expectations were high.

She looked like a top 50 player. She has got to 92 now and from here it's just about belief.

When you can do this well against someone like Venus who has won this event four times that really gives you a shot in the arm.

Tracy Austin and Pat Cash were talking on BBC Two's Today at Wimbledon.
